a   safe   place   for   women   to   restore   mind,   body   and   soul

The Sanctuary will be a safe haven for women who are part of the growing contingent of the Invisible Homeless.  The facility will not only help to provide basic services to these women, but will offer assistance by way of business mentoring from successful women business owners. This will help these women to become more able to create their own businesses or to become successful within the workplace.  Working with Alex Shrewsbury, an entrepreneurial Bend, Oregon resident, an existing building will be renovated to provide for these needs. The original building is approximately 5,700 sf and two stories. The renovation will include opening up the interior to make it more airy and allow for much needed natural light to filter down from skylights. The exterior will be renovated to reference Southern Plantation Houses. The exterior and site, when complete will include a garden area that can be used to do anything from having an afternoon tea, to exercise classes. This project is in the preliminary, funding stages.
